Specializing in Therapy for Chronic Illness, Therapy for Burnout, and Somatic Therapy in North Carolina and Oregon

Note: My practice is 100% VIRTUAL and I offer state-wide telehealth in North Carolina, not just Asheville, NC and the state of Oregon

You’re done with feeling tired and wired

You feel like you are aways fighting your body.

Your work and/or chronic illness has left you feeling lonely and disconnected from yourself and your relationships.

You’re on edge and restless (and your sleep sucks)

You’re sick of being sick, and get exhausted just thinking about managing your next doctor appointment and navigating the medical world yet again.

You’ve tried all the self-care, vacations, time off, massage, deep breathing — and maybe even dabbled in meditating (and if you’re being honest, the breathing kinda sucked and at times made things worse). None of it seems to cut it or keep those feelings of loneliness and disconnection at bay.

You know something has to change, but it’s been hard to know what to do until now.

You might be struggling with burnout, living life with chronic illness, anxiety, depression.

You know your job or chronic health conditions are affecting your mental health and let’s face it, a lot of other parts of your life (your relationships, hobbies, sleep). You have been in cycles of hoping things will change, but after finding yourself stuck in the same cycles of overdoing and trying to figure things out on your own, you’re realizing you’re done and over it (cue rage quitting fantasy).

You’re smart, a great critical thinker and problem solver, but you get frustrated and judgmental of yourself when you haven’t solved how to not keep doing the same old shit when it comes to stress and uncomfortable emotions.

Do you daydream of being able to press pause on life to rest, catch up on sleep, not think?

These days, almost every day feels next-level hard.

You're not alone in feeling this way.
I'm glad you're here, and I can help.

Whether you’re looking for therapy for burnout to better manage your stress and connect to a “you” that isn’t just your profession, a chronic illness therapist who understands the complexities of living life with chronic illness, navigating its ever changing grief and dealing with the absolute headache of finding doctors who actually listen an help, or someone who specialized in somatic therapy (Somatic Experiencing) to help you process the hard sh*t that’s happen to you.

What's Next?

I specialize in therapy for burnout, therapy for chronic illness, and somatic therapy for trauma. I help my clients find approachable ways to connect to their bodies and address patterns that are keeping them feeling stuck, unmotivated, and exhausted.

Hi! I’m Lexi Gross (she/her), therapist in North Carolina and Oregon and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner.

Identity Development

Throu Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) based therapy for burnout, chronic pain, chronic illness, or trauma, I can help address the tou stuff that’s happened in the past that’s impacting your relationships, health, and goals. I can help you move throu the feeling of “stuckness” and develop a strong relationship with your body. In our work together, I’ll help you navigate:

* Person-Centered
* Collaborative
* Experiential
* Mindfulness-Based
* Somatic

I don’t use interventions or suggest skills that I haven’t already done, tried, or regularly use myself. I acknowledge that what works for me may not work with my clients and vice versa. So when one approach doesn’t work, it doesn’t mean you’re broken or not doing it right. It simply means we get to explore other skills.

In my practice, I primarily use Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Experiencing® (SE™), and the Safe and Sound Protocol, meaning my approach is:

So what do you think? Are you ready to get started?

I welcome your intensity and sensitivity. I’m here to engage actively and work on
some hard shit, but in a playful, compassionate, and, at times, humorous way.

My practice is accepting and affirming for people of all identities, abilities, body sizes, and backgrounds. You are welcome here.
